The Care in Congregations program provides funding support for hands-on service activities and fundraisers that benefit Immanuel’s congregation and school. Immanuel receives funding by forming a congregational service team with Thrivent Financial members from at least six different households. The team identifies a need and develops an activity with the congregational coordinators from the local Thrivent Financial for Lutherans chapter (see coordinator contact info below). The coordinator submits an online request for funding. (Note: There is a $100 minimum per activity). After the activity is conducted, the congregational coordinator reports activity results online, and Thrivent sends the supplemental funds to the congregation.
Thrivent members can also form service teams to provide funding support for hands-on service activities and fundraisers that benefit individuals, families, and qualified not-for-profit organizations other than congregations. This program is called Care Abounds in Communities. Members can also participate in the Care in Regions Program through their local Thrivent chapter and manager of Lutheran Community Services.
