1. Mark and Mary Gronemeyer

Mark and Mary Gronemeyer, of Pewaukee, are transfers to Immanuel from Elm Grove Lutheran. One of the Gronemeyers’ two daughters, Lisa Strand, and her husband Andy and their six children are also Immanuel members.

Mark is a former dentist, and Mary worked as his assistant.

This Christmas, Mary and Mark are looking forward to their family Christmas Eve traditions. Each Christmas Eve, the family goes out for pizza together. Then they enjoy some quality time at Mark and Mary’s house in the evening (where they’re sure to enjoy Mark and Mary’s favorite Spritz cookies). They wind up the evening with the 11:00 candlelight service at Immanuel. Mary says she is always moved while singing “Silent Night” by candlelight.

  1. Scott, Lynn, and Nicholas Meiler
Scott, Lynn, and Nicholas Meiler, of Milwaukee, come to Immanuel by Reaffirmation of Faith. The Meilers learned about Immanuel through their friends Eric and Elizabeth Pankow.

Scott is an Operations Manager and enjoys hunting and fishing in his free time. Lynn is an interior designer whose artistic creativity extends into her scrapbooking hobby. Nicholas, 4, attends Immanuel Lutheran School’s 4-K program, and likes to build rockets.

At Christmastime, the Meiler family enjoys looking at the brightly lit decorations on nearby homes. They each have a favorite Christmas cookie: Lynn loves Spritz cookies, Scott savors sugar cookies with sprinkles, and Nicholas cherishes classic chocolate chip cookies.

Say hello to this friendly family at the 10:45 service time!

  1. Marlene Price and Chasity Ciezki
Marlene Price and her daughter Chasity Ciezki are new faces to Immanuel’s 10:45 service. Chasity is good friends with Emma Paul, who introduced her to Immanuel’s Youth of Jesus program. Chasity is now also busy helping with Kingdom Quest, and assisted with Vacation Bible School this past summer. Marlene and Chasity were recently baptized at Immanuel and are excited to have a church home.

Marlene is a busy stay-at-home mom to Chasity, 15, and her son Joseph, 18. Chasity is a sophomore at the Milwaukee High School of the Arts, while Joey is a junior at Riverside.

Marlene and Chasity share many of the same hobbies, including poetry, music, swimming, and working on the computer.

Marlene says she’s hoping for a white Christmas and time spent talking with Chasity, Joey, her fiancé Tim, and her mother Diane. Chasity says the family makes a point of enjoying her favorite sugar cookies with homemade green frosting and watching classic Christmas specials such as “Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer” and “Frosty the Snowman.” They also like to listen to Christmas music together. Marlene’s favorite hymn is “O Holy Night,” while Chasity loves “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire” and “Jingle Bell Rock.”

  1. Jennifer Potratz

Jennifer Potratz comes to Immanuel through Reaffirmation of Faith. She’ll doubtless bump into a few family members at our church: her parents Tim and Judy Potratz, her Grandmother Eleanor, and her Uncle Tom and Aunt Theresa and cousins Tom and Ali are also Immanuel members. Another fun fact about Jennifer: her Grandfather, Pastor Ken Potratz, who recently passed away, baptized Jennifer at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa.

Jennifer is currently taking the PLACE Workshop and is interested in getting to know other young adults in our congregation. She is also hoping her involvement at Immanuel will help her develop a closer relationship with God.

Attending Carroll University as a freshman pre-pharmacy student keeps Jennifer very busy. Going to movies, bowling, and spending time with friends are among Jennifer’s hobbies. She also works in the Team Store at Miller Park during baseball season.

Please say hello to this friendly young lady at the 9:30 service time!
